WEBSITE PRIVACY NOTICE

Privacy at CORTAN

Last updated October 20, 2026

Scope

This notice covers the public CORTAN website, contractor applications, and customer update requests. The CORTAN Connect application and payment-provider services have separate product and privacy terms.

Information you submit

We collect the contact, business, operating-profile, and business-fit information you provide in an application or update request. We use it to respond, review business requirements, plan onboarding, and maintain submission and consent records. Submitting a form does not require accepting optional website analytics.

Cookies and browser storage

The cortan_consent cookie remembers your privacy choice for up to 180 days. It is necessary to apply that choice and is used on this public website.

If you accept analytics, first-party session storage uses cortan_session for a visit identifier, cortan_acquisition for campaign and referral information, and cortan_view:* to avoid counting a page view repeatedly. These entries last for the browser tab’s session and are cleared when you reject optional analytics.

Optional analytics is off before you choose and after you reject. It may record page paths, clicks, demo steps, form completion, campaign labels, and the referring website’s origin. Full search query strings and full referring URLs are excluded from the website’s normal analytics collection.

Change your choice

Use here or in any public page’s footer. Accept analytics enables the optional collection described above; Reject optional turns it off. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals keep optional analytics off, even if you previously accepted.

Changing your choice stops future optional collection and clears the optional analytics entries in this tab. It does not automatically delete earlier records or information you submitted. If your browser blocks saving preferences, optional analytics is off on the current page; check your browser’s storage settings to save your choice for future visits.

Storage and disclosure

Submissions and permitted analytics records are stored in CORTAN’s hosted database. Submissions may also be delivered to the authorized CORTAN owner through Microsoft 365. CORTAN does not sell submitted application or update-request information as contractor leads. Service providers that operate the website may process information to provide hosting, security, and message delivery, and information may be disclosed when required by law.

Retention

Optional website analytics is retained for up to 90 days. Unconverted contractor applications and customer update requests are retained for up to 24 months. Expired records are removed during the next maintenance pass, triggered by a valid submission or a permitted analytics event.

Active business relationships, legal holds, product records, and prior IT-services engagement records have separate retention needs. Copies delivered by email and hosting backups are handled separately; the privacy contact can explain the scope of a request.

Privacy requests

For questions about retention, or to request access to or deletion of information you submitted, email [email protected]. Cortan LLC is responsible for these requests. Include your submission reference and contact us from the email used for the submission where possible. We verify identity and check applicable recordkeeping obligations before completing a request. Do not send passwords, payment details, or private customer records.
